Adrian Belmes, AMFT (he/him)

Hi, I'm Adrian, and my pronouns are he/him. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is queer, transgender, Jewish, and a first-generation immigrant, I am committed to supporting my communities and cultivating spaces of empowerment. If you are searching for healing and hope, you are in the right place. Profound transformation is possible when you are willing to engage with your authentic self. It is a privilege to walk alongside you in this work.

I use a primarily Psychodynamic approach that is fundamentally collaborative, person-centered, and strengths based. I also incorporate tools and techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy. My work is explicitly LGBTQIA+ affirming, relationship diverse, trauma-informed, sex-positive, kink-aware, and from a harm-reduction perspective. From working in community mental health settings to the lived experiences of my person and peers, I have developed significant experience in supporting individuals facing questions of gender, sexuality, identity formation, grief, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, and the stressors of systemic inequality.

The therapy space we collaboratively create is a place to share your experiences safely and have them received empathetically. I will support you with warmth and compassion in the process of understanding and reconstructing your life story. It is a basic human need to see and to feel seen. You are the expert on your own life, and your lived experiences are valuable. Together, we will navigate the challenges of your past and present to build a more complete, balanced, and meaningful existence. It is an honor to be a part of your journey.
